| The ICD-9-CM Diagnosis Coding course is part of the Diagnostic Radiology Curriculum. It is designed to improve users’ ability to accurately and efficiently assign diagnosis codes for diagnostic radiology services. Users should have a working knowledge of ICD-9-CM diagnosis coding before beginning this course. The process for identifying reportable diagnoses is discussed in detail, including the portions of the radiology report that must be reviewed and the best order in which to review them. Specific diagnoses and diagnosis coding issues commonly encountered in diagnostic radiology are reviewed in detail, including trauma cases, mammography, obstetrical ultrasound, etc. Linkage of diagnoses with procedure codes is also discussed.
